Change Log
Paper Edit App has been in development since October 2025. Here are the major features, newest first.
October 2026
- Watch your footage beside the transcript: link a FrameRate video to a source, click any word to jump there, or play the whole paper edit.
- Invite a fellow editor and you both get an extra free project.
- Search inside the paper edit, not just the transcripts.
- Producers and clients can import their own Frame.io comments.
- Video walkthroughs in the first-run checklist and Help.
September 2026
- DaVinci Resolve support: send transcripts from Resolve and build the finished timeline back, including multicam and multi-track.
- Transcripts now cover only what's actually on your timeline, so you can't pick words that won't build.
- Use track names as speaker names, and name a new project as you send it.
- Phrase search, Paper Edit to .txt export and a cleaner PDF.
- AI cost estimates before you run Topics, Refine or search.
- Delete your account yourself, any time, from Settings.
August 2026
- Trims you make with the pen stay visible as history instead of vanishing.
- Notifications redesigned, with a switch for each type.
- Save any transcript as a .txt file.
- A rewritten, searchable Help page.
July 2026
- The word-level editor becomes the whole app.
- Google Docs-style comments, anchored to the block they're about.
- Load a saved version back in as a Selects column and pick from it.
- Speaker tidy-up: reassign a paragraph, or part of one, to the right speaker.
- Import Frame.io review comments; they become markers in Premiere.
- Producers can request a review or sign off the paper edit, with email alerts.
- Build any saved version from the Bridge, not just the latest.
- A demo project in every new account, a running timecode on every block, and monthly billing.
June 2026
- A new Paper Edit Bridge for Premiere Pro: send transcripts in one click, build the timeline in one click.
- Word-level editing: drag across the exact words you want.
- Live multiplayer: see who's in the project and watch edits appear as they're made, with undo and redo.
- Suggestions: producers propose changes and the editor accepts or rejects them.
- AI Topic Maps across every interview.
- Automatic speaker detection.
May 2026
- The first Paper Edit Bridge panel for Premiere Pro.
- Comments on paper edits.
- AI semantic search and Refine, which suggests editorial tightening.
- Invite producers and clients by email.
- Pro subscriptions, per-project export settings and print to PDF.
April 2026
- Multi-timeline projects: work across many interviews in one paper edit.
- Undo, client sharing and the first public beta.
October 2025 – February 2026
- Development begins (2 October 2025): upload a transcript, select the best lines, export an XML that rebuilds the cut in Premiere.
- Builds keep your track layout, multicam and separate sound.
- Projects, folders and organisation.
