Privacy Policy

Paper Edit App is operated by Cut/daily. References to “we”, “us”, or “Cut/daily” in this policy refer to the operator of this Service. You can contact us at hello@paperedit.app.

Account data: Your email address and a hashed password, collected when you create an account.

Uploaded content: XML timeline files and SRT transcript files you upload, stored in Supabase cloud storage.

Project data: Paper edit selections, labels, and ordering you create within the Service, stored in our database.

API keys: If you save a Claude API key in Settings, it is stored encrypted in our database and is never exposed to the browser or logs.

Billing data: Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store card details. We receive a Stripe customer ID and subscription status.

Usage data: Standard server logs (IP address, page requests, timestamps) retained by our hosting provider (Vercel).

• To manage your account and subscription
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, project share invitations, paper edit delivery)
• To respond to support requests

We do not sell your data. We do not use your uploaded content to train AI models. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

We use the following third-party services to operate the Service. Each has its own privacy policy.

• Supabase — database and file storage (EU region)
• Vercel — hosting and serverless functions
• Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — transactional email delivery

Your uploaded files are stored in Supabase Storage. Access is controlled by row-level security policies — only you (and producers you explicitly invite) can access your files.

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your project data and uploaded files will be deleted from our systems within 30 days.

Stripe retains billing records independently in accordance with their own policies and legal obligations.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights under applicable data protection law (including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR):

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Data portability

We use a single session cookie set by Supabase Auth to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security on all database tables, and access controls on file storage. No system is perfectly secure — do not upload material you consider highly sensitive.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice in the app. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
