Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Paper Edit App (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

Cut/daily reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Paper Edit App is a web-based tool that allows video editors and producers to build paper edits from transcript files and export them as XMEML sequences or SRT files for use in non-linear editing software (“NLE”).

The Service is provided on a subscription basis. A free tier (limited to one project) is available with no credit card required. A Pro subscription is available for a fee billed annually.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use at hello@paperedit.app.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. Accounts are for individual use and may not be shared or transferred.

Pro subscriptions are billed annually via Stripe. Prices are displayed at the point of purchase and are subject to change with reasonable notice.

Refund requests must be made within 30 days of purchase. Refunds are at the sole discretion of Cut/daily. Once a subscription has been used to create and export projects, refunds may not be granted.

You may cancel your subscription at any time via the billing section in Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued for unused time.

You retain ownership of all transcript files, XML timelines, and other content you upload to the Service (“Your Content”). By uploading content, you grant Cut/daily a limited licence to store, process, and display it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and process Your Content. Do not upload confidential material unless you are comfortable with it being stored on cloud infrastructure (Supabase / Vercel).

We do not use Your Content to train AI models or share it with third parties except as necessary to operate the Service.

You may not use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Upload malicious files or attempt to compromise the security of the Service
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service
• Attempt to reverse-engineer the Service
• Use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied.

Cut/daily does not warrant that:

• The Service will meet your specific requirements
• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Exported XMEML or SRT files will be compatible with every version of every NLE
• The Service will produce results suitable for broadcast or commercial delivery

You assume all risk associated with the use of the Service and any files it generates. Always maintain backups of your source material and project files.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cut/daily shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

This includes, without limitation:

• Loss of project data or transcripts
• Corruption of NLE project files
• Loss of revenue, business, or opportunity
• Any damages resulting from reliance on exported files

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, Cut/daily's liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law. In no event shall Cut/daily's total liability exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

The Service, including its code, design, and branding, is the intellectual property of Cut/daily. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use Cut/daily trademarks, logos, or trade names.

This Service is independent and is not endorsed, sponsored, or affiliated with Adobe Inc., Avid Technology, or any NLE vendor. Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro are trademarks of their respective owners.

Cut/daily may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via Settings. On termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
